The two-week course is intensive in-depth program, with an honest and direct approach.

It is a unique opportunity to experience the reality behind art exhibitions and the Venice Biennale. Participants meet artists and curators and will see, feel and understand Italian and international contemporary art scene. Hands-on workshops show you how to build a career in the art world and make living out of it.
As a result you come to a better understanding of how to navigate the world of museums, galleries and exhibitions.

Selected speakers
You will meet international experts from all over the world. Here are some lecturers of the Contemporary Art & Venice Biennale Program.
Danielle is a painter, curator and writer behind the contemporary art website the Jealous Curator, author of numerous books on contemporary art. The Jealous Curator has been featured by Oprah Magazine/oprah.com, Fast Company, and Glamour Paris.
Board member of the GAA Foundation. Co-Organizer of the exhibition "Personal Structures" at Palazzo Bembo, a collateral event of the 55thVenice Art Biennale. Her previous projects included co-curating Norwegian Pavilion and assisting at the South Africa Pavilion, 54th La Biennale di Venezia.
Venice Cultural Heritage Expert. She has worked for UNESCO, and written a book on Venice Master Artisans, along with a number of articles for other books and magazines.
Director of the European Cultural Centre. Lucia has years of experience in large-scale international exhibitions. Previously, she worked as international press officer for several national pavilions at the Venice Biennale and held various positions in Peggy Guggenheim museum in Venice.

Curators, gallerists and other experts from the art world present different perspectives and critical contemporary issues that confront professionals today. In addition, we visit relevant exhibitions and cultural institutions in Venice, Biennale included.

Rene Rietmeyer, program curator
Rietmeyer is president of the European Cultural Centre and artist mostly known for his own art form of the "Boxes", stimulated by American minimal art and the so-called new abstraction. He has organized events with artists such as Yoko Ono, Lawrence Weiner, Hermann Nitsch, Marina Abramovic and Mike Parr.
