The Academy organises short professional development courses in art, architecture and design. Each course is a combination of lectures, workshops and guided visits to architecture studios, museums and the Venice Biennale.

The Academy brings together high level practitioners from government, academia and business sector. Our faculty includes artists, architects designers, curators, gallerists, and scholars that will help you to build the necessary skills, and enable you to navigate through a competitive industry. Having workshops and discussions with them in Venice is a unique experience.

Venice has an extraordinary concentration of facilities and organisations dedicated to culture. Leveraging our working experience in this incredible city, we will guide you to its most alluring locations. Classes take place in historic palazzos, students visit palazzos that are closed to the public, private art residences, design and architecture studios.

Maria Nekrassova
Maria is in charge of strategy, programming and partnerships. Her mission is to help participants built necessary skills to succeed in the competitive fields of art and architecture.

Simone Stunz
External Relations & University Collaborations Coordinator
Simone is your first point of contact online and will welcome you in Venice! Before joining the Academy, she initiated an architecture competition and worked in external relations at Unseen Amsterdam. Meghan Scanlon
Programme Coordinator
Meg is a programme coordinator and will be with you during your course in Venice. Before joining the Academy, she worked in art museum education for several art institutions globally, including the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. Annie Heslinga
Programme Coordinator
Annie supports the coordination of ECA programmes in addition to applications for Erasmus+ funding. When she is not with you in Venice, she will assist you with application questions and aligns the programme values with the strategic goals of the European Union. Before joining the European Cultural Academy, her professional background has taken her from the fields of education technology in New York City to creative industries research with the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.
